The wings+horns Spring/Summer 2016 collection is inspired by the utility of natural fabrics and the texture of natural forms. Traditional materials such as cotton, linen, silk and wool are elevated through purposeful application, and fabric designs that consider the inherent character of each fibre.
A muted colour palette of charcoal, sand, ash and clay draws on the organic minimalism of arid landscapes, and is evident in key seasonal fabrics including Knit Linen, Silk Jersey and Double Knit Jersey.
Vented Linen and Vented Terry, a pair of custom developed Japanese fabrics, feature honeycomb mesh bonded to the fabric reverse for optimal airflow. Vented Linen appears in a standout bomber and fishtail parka, while Vented Terry evolves a classic zip hoodie and slim-fit sweatpant.
Highly durable Convoy Twill, a water-resistant, windproof, breathable fabric, is created from finely woven threads of extra long staple cotton. This natural technical material appears in a spectrum of staple bottoms and outerwear, including a signature BDU Jacket and packable Mac Coat.
Balancing rugged utility with considered simplicity, wings+horns Spring/Summer 2016 advances new techniques and refines signature silhouettes. Each garment remains true to an established legacy of Canadian-made quality founded on exceptional attention to detail.
