Indigo Patchwork Sashiko

The first delivery of wings+horns Spring/Summer 2014 is available now. Among the latest arrivals are short and long sleeve shirts, a two-button blazer and slim-fit shorts, all made from a custom Japanese ‘patchwork sashiko’ fabric.

Sashiko is a form of functional embroidery which originated in 17th century Japan, and until the 1950’s it was the traditional method of making and repairing workwear for fishermen and farmers throughout the country.

Indigo patchwork sashiko shirts feature three needle chain stitching and mother of pearl buttons, while the two-button blazer is fully lined with chambray and accented by real bone buttons throughout. Slim-fit shorts are cut above the knee, and also feature real bone buttons on the fly, waistband and pockets.
